Because our bodies contain the same concentration of minerals and nutrients as sea water, its no wonder that sea salt is a natural friend to our body - to balance, protect and to restore.

1) Balancing Mask
To Soothe Skin and Calm Breakouts and Irritation
Mix 2 tsps of sea salt with 4 tsps of honey to create a spreadable paste. Apply evenly to clean dry skin, avoiding your eye area. Let stand for 15 mins before rinsing it off with a warm washcloth. Follow up with your usual skin care routine.
2) Oil Sapping Facial Toner
To Clean Pores deeply and to Balance Oil Production and Thwart Bacteria
Mix 1 tsp sea salt with 4 ozs of warm water in small spray bottle until salt is dissolved. Mist on clean dry skin avoiding eyse. Use daily once or twice.
For your Body
3) Softening Body Scrub
To exfoliate and to soften skin and restore hydration
Mix a 1/4 cup of salt, 1/2 cup olive into a thick paste. You can also add drops of your fav essential oil. While in the shower, apply in a circular motion with a loofah or with your palms.
4) Rejuvenating Scrub
To hydrate, heal and aid skin renewal and to Increase skin's blood circulation
Mix 1/2 cup salt, 1/4 cup of pure aloe vera juice or gel, 1/4 cup oil, 1 tbsp dried lavender flowers and 10 drops of lavender essential oil. If the resulting paste is too dry, add in more essential oil. I couldn't find lavender flowers in time so I made the mask without them.
Again, apply in the shower in a circular motion using your palms or a loofah.

To remove existing flakes while stimulating circulation for a healthy scalp. Sea Salt also helps to absorb excess oil and moisture to prevent fungal growth which is the root of dandruff!
Part your hair a few times and sprinkle 1-2 tsps of sea salt on your scalp. Wet your fingers and then slowly and gently massage your scalp for 10-15 mins. Wash and condition your hair per your usual routine.

6) Teeth Whitener
To remove stains and to brighten your teeth
Mix 1 tsp sea salt with 2 tsps of baking soda. Dip a damp toothbrush in the mixture and brush teeth normally. If the taste is too intense, add a small pea size toothpaste on the toothbrush before dipping.
7) Natural Mouth Wash
To kill the bacteria that can cause bad breath and gingivitis.
Mix together a 1/2 tsp of sea salt, 1/2 tsp baking soda and 1/4 cup water till the salt dissolves. Then, swish the solution arund in your mouth, spit and rinse.

8) Nail Brightening Treatment
Sea salt helps to soften cuticles and skin and strengthens nails. Baking soda and lemon in this treatment work to reduce nail yellowing and stains for brighter, healthier looking nails.
Mix 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp lemon juice and 1/2 cup warm water in a small bowl. Soak nails in this solution for 10 mins, then scrub with a soft brush. Rinse and moisturize.
