It became -10 deg C yesterday and today it is hovering around -13 with snow squall around us. Snow Squall is a sudden blizzard with strong gusty winds. Slippery conditions accompanied by abrupt loss of visibility. Much like a thunderstorm in winter! It may be -13 outside but it feels like -24 because of the very cold wind chill.
Especially dangerous for motorists and travelers in aero planes. It is supposed to get worse between 1 am last night to 10am today morning.
We heard roaring winds ( speed up to 50-60 mph) last night as the squall ploughed thru Philadelphia then Bluebell. Trees were dangerously pushed back and forth. Fear of tree breaking down to cause power outages were imminent.
So how could we even venture out in this bitter hazardous weather conditions?
We were stuck at home last two days and looks like for the next two days too. It's a long weekend break from Fri to Mon. What a waste! Hibernating at its peak.
Ended up baking Espresso cake ( recipe in Healthy Veg Food Ideas) and watching loads of TV! If we continue this lifestyle of non stop eating and no exercise, a rounder Nilofar will be arriving in Spore this summer vacation!!
Just saw the latest report. Boston has reached its snowiest month on record just halfway thru Feb. 45.5 inches of snow so far. Previous record was 43.3 in Jan 2005.
Thousands of people are out of power as a result of the strong winds and numerous crashes along the highways have been reported here in the East. ( see what I mean?)
It is expected to dip to -18 on Thursday. Record lowest for us since we first arrived in Bluebell PA.
As I sit here all alone on an early Sunday morning blogging while watching the scary gusty winds rattling the trees, I wonder how that'll go......
My home is
usually in a mess and has dust settled on almost everything. But I believe laughter and love will win the day. In 20 years, my girls won't remember how messy the house was but will remember the time we spent together and the love they felt...
