It is still winter and the grounds are covered in snow. 8 inches of snow fell on Thursday. My girls were ecstatic as their school was closed on Thursday and Friday!! It was quite magical with every inch of the leaves on the pine trees covered in snow. The sun showed off its might yesterday. But it was still cold for the snow to melt away completely....
With such extreme temperatures, the wild animals in our backyard hardly find their food. The snow is too deep for them to peck or dig for their food. We started feeding them since we moved here to our current house in Bluebell, last Sep. The Squirrels, Blue jays and Red Jays are frequent visitors....The Jays make a particular bird call in the morning prompting us to feed them. I say it sounds like ' I 'm hungry, please lay out some groundnuts for me'. Then, the squirrels come knocking at our sliding door at our deck when the food has finished....a myriad of other bids have started nesting near our house too...because of the food being laid out especially for them....I can see so many wild birds swooping down to my deck as I am typing this in my blog....
And how do they thank me ? With a beautiful melody every morning....a wonderful start to every day. Thank you my special visitors.
My home is
usually in a mess and has dust settled on almost everything. But I believe laughter and love will win the day. In 20 years, my girls won't remember how messy the house was but will remember the time we spent together and the love they felt...
