New research has shown that a bad mood may lead to bad diet decisions.
Bummed out people are more likely to pick indulgent foods and are less likely to consider the consequences of the calories than happier guys.
According to the study, negative emotions signal a problem and trigger a desire for an immediate solution that benefits you now with a disregard for the future.
So what do you do when you are feeling blue?
Try to avoid thinking about the source of your bad mood. Instead, think about something positive and future focused. It could be as mundane as what cars might look like in 50 years!!
If that doesn't help, try other ways to come out of your bad moods. Watch a comedy, go for a run if weather permits or even better talk to a good friend.
